For some reason, there’s nothing better than coming back to your Pittsburgh apartments in the wee hours of the morning with a big bag full of food. Snacks just taste better when they’re consumed after 10 p.m. Of course, your stomach often reminds you the next morning that it’s a lot healthier to not eat food right before bed, but that’s a problem for future you to worry about.
An up and coming foodie haven like Pittsburgh is filled with late night eateries. While some cities might only have fast food joints and convenience stores open this late, Pittsburgh actually has some pretty great restaurants that stay open well past midnight. You can get cuisine from all over the world on your way home, or you can just go for a traditional, reliable hot dog.
No one knows late night food better than the local reviewers who take the time to write their critiques on Yelp. These people are the real MVPs, and we should all thank them for providing the rest of us with tips on where to find the best post-midnight snacks. To help our residents out, the staff at SkyVue has put together a list of late night eateries and the corresponding reviews that we found to be most helpful.
These are some of the best late night bites for anyone living at SkyVue apartments in Pittsburgh. They aren’t all healthy—in fact, only one of them is—but you won’t be thinking about calories when this delicious food says hello to your tastebuds.
Open until 2:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays
“We started off with the smoked pineapple guacamole. Quite possibly the best guac I’ve ever had. The smoked pineapple is a great addition to the guac, giving it the perfect hint of sweetness.”
“The Mahi Mahi Taco gets a 4.9/5. The plantain was crusted so very crispy and sweet which balanced out the fish, chipotle mayo, and cabbage. Wonderful flavor balance.”
Open until 12 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays
“Baja fish tacos and pork al pastor tacos were excellent. Staff was attentive and were very helpful getting us transport back to our hotel. Good, hip vibe and overall excellent experience!”
“If you plan to visit Tako you have 2 choices…. waaay advanced reservations or a late, late night meal. Either way DO IT!”

“We had the perogies, which came with both potato and radish filling, and a luke warm vegetable soup with potato dumplings. Both were fantastic! Good texture and unique flavor.”
“Meatatarians, have no fear. Do your vegan and vegetarian friends a service and come here for dinner one night. Don’t be intimidated, don’t think you won’t get a good meal, and come with an open mind.”

“This is the greasiest, grimiest, most delicious hot dog and french fry shop east of Detroit”
“Why can’t I quit you? With your delicious, crunchy fries and cheese and gravy dipping sauces? I heart you and have since college.”
“All you need to know is that The O has the best fries you will ever eat. You get a ton even with a small, and they go best with the cheese sauce.”
