skyvue - Stay Cool, In and Out of Your Pittsburgh Apartments

No one is going to mistake living in apartments in Pittsburgh for living in the heat of the south, but there’s no denying that Pittsburgh is heating up this summer. We haven’t quite reached the point where you can fry an egg on the sidewalk, but you’re probably looking for ways to cool down as July turns to August.

Of course, it’s always nice and comfortable inside our apartments for rent in Pittsburgh. The issues only arise when you have to step outside on a steamy afternoon. When you walk in the door after a long day and see your couch sitting there in your air conditioned apartment, it can be hard to find the motivation to explore the city. However, we’re here to tell you that Pittsburgh is too cool of a city to ignore because of a little heat. Once you’ve finished your TV series and watched every available documentary on HBO and Netflix, you’re going to want to get out for a bit. That’s why we’re on a mission to help our residents beat the heat inside and outside their apartment.

This week’s blog post will help you figure out how to stay cool next time downtown Pittsburgh feels like an oven.

The Steel City is filled with little ice cream shops and food trucks that serve cool treats. Whether you’re a fan of a simple vanilla ice cream cone or you prefer more exotic cold treats, we’ve got you covered. Next time you have a guest visiting you in Pittsburgh and you find yourself apologizing for the heat, head on down to one of the places mentioned on this list.

Also, be sure to share this post with your SkyVue neighbors who might be holed up inside their apartment to avoid the heat.

NatuRoll Creamery

Check out the website for NatuRoll by clicking the link above, and feast your eyes on the cool, tasty treat that is rolled ice cream. We’ll admit, we’ve never heard of rolled ice cream before we discovered NatuRoll, but the treat that’s inspired by vietnamese street food is just as delicious as it looks.

Reed & Co.

You can find this smoothie spot in the Lawrenceville area, and you’ll be glad you did. If you’re into healthy snacking, Reed & Co. has you covered with pressed juices and smoothies that are always ice cold. There’s nothing like a cold bowl of ice cream on a summer day, but sometimes reality sets in and you make the health-conscious decision to cool down with a fruit & vegetable smoothie.

Page Dairy Mart

Finally, we get to the classic ice cream shop that you’ve been waiting for. Page Dairy Mart is a Pittsburgh staple, and the sooner you go, the sooner you’ll find relief from the heat. Last year, Page Dairy Mart was voted the best ice cream shop in the state of Pennsylvania by fanschoice.org, and one of the top ice cream shops in America by Real Simple Magazine. If you’re going to go to an ice cream shop, you might as well go to the best one in town. Plus, you’ll become a part of a timeless Pittsburgh tradition, as Page Dairy Mart has been serving the city’s residents since 1951.
As always, we appreciate you taking the time to read the latest blog from SkyVue apartments. Hopefully, you’ve discovered a few ways to cool down next time the mercury starts rising.
