3 Tidiness Tips from Skyvue Pittsburgh Apartments
July 20th, 2017 by Ryan Sundling
Since we pride ourselves on being the most resident-friendly community of apartments for rent in Pittsburgh, we’re back with another helpful blog post.
In this week’s post, we break down some of the common tips that you can find online regarding apartment upkeep and organization. Unfortunately, your lease at SkyVue apartments doesn’t come with maid service, but we hope the tips in this blog are enough to help to stay organized. After all, there are few things more demoralizing than walking into your apartment after an exhausting day and seeing clutter everywhere.
If you’ve experienced that scenario once or twice, there are a couple things you can do. For those of you with roommates, go ahead and just blame the roommate and ignore the problem. For everyone else, you can just read this blog. As always, the aim of this blog post is to help residents get the most out their time at SkyVue, and to provide helpful tips for living in apartments in Pittsburgh or elsewhere.
Both junk mail and important mail can pile up in your apartment if you don’t get proactive about it. Some people get into a habit of throwing their mail in a basket and dealing with it at a later date, but that method of mail-management will just add unnecessary clutter to your apartment.
We’re not saying you have to open every credit card offer individually, but make sure the important mail gets opened right away and the junk mail gets thrown in the recycling as soon as possible. We’d all like to live in a world where junk mail doesn’t exist, but until someone convinces credit card companies to stop killing trees, we’re pretty much stuck with it.
Most people have way more bottles and boxes than they need in their medicine cabinet. It’s alright, you’re not alone. However, the medicine cabinet is usually the last thing anyone thinks about when cleaning their apartment, and cleaning it up can remove a lot of stress from your morning routine. If you’ve ever blindly searched for your contacts case in the wee hours of the morning, you know what we mean.
Investing in a sturdy, good looking laundry hamper that has a lid will help you out in multiple ways on your journey to a cleaner apartment. For starters, you won’t have to deal with a pile of dirty clothes staring you in the face everytime you walk past your laundry hamper. That alone is worth the price you’ll pay for a high quality hamper. It’s amazing how putting a lid over something keeps it from cluttering up the look of your apartment.
The secondary benefit of owning a laundry hamper with a lid is the fact that you’ll know exactly when it’s time to do the laundry. When you’re unable to close the lid without clothes spilling over the edge, you know it’s time to put in a load. Sure, you’ll have to lift up the lid every time you want to throw clothes in there, but that’s a small price to pay for a clean apartment.
Once again, we’d like to thank our residents for taking some time out of your busy schedules to read the latest blog from SkyVue Pittsburgh apartments. Keeping your apartment clean at all times is no easy task, but if you start with a few simple steps you’ll have a tidier home in no time.
